Maryam Akhtar – Agricultural Technologies Innovation for Sustainable Agriculture

-

My name is Maryam Akhtar and I am a final year student. I study Applied Biosciences at National University of Sciences And Technology (NUST) in Islamabad.
Recently, I got to use my love for plants in a practical workspace at Chatha BIO Care Pvt.Ltd, situated at National Science & Technology Park (NSTP). I worked on bio-priming various seeds there. We came up with a final product called ” Eco seeds”.
On 25th of August, my project was also displayed on-board at the hybrid event on ‘Agricultural Technologies Innovation for Sustainable Agriculture’ at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, (MOFA) Islamabad  in collaboration with the Embassy of Switzerland. The event brought together, physically and virtually, around a 100 science and technology-related stakeholders. They were from both Pakistan and Switzerland. The event was conducted under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Science Diplomacy Initiative. One of the key objective of this is to provide local S&T stakeholders a platform to showcase their innovations for pursuing international partnerships.
I feel humbled to be part of the whole team of the mentioned project. And I am grateful both NUST and NSTP for providing the above mentioned excellent opportunities/platforms.
